Syria Red Line: Is Obama "Wagging the Dog" By Intervening In the Syria Civil War?

More here.

Wagging the Dog in Syria

June 14, 2013 by R.D. Walker

What is the cure for a shit storm of scandal news on the home front? Why war, that’s what.

The White House announced Thursday that the Obama administration has conclusive evidence that Syrian

President Bashar Assad’s regime has used chemical weapons against his opposition, killing up to 150 people in the last year and crossing what President Obama has called a “red line” that would lead to greater American involvement in the crisis.

It was not immediately clear what the next U.S. move would be, but a statement by Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communications Ben Rhodes said that the use of chemical weapons by Syria has changed the President’s “calculus.”

Pentagon officials told FoxNews.com that they did not expect immediate U.S. military action. However, the Associated Press reported Thursday night that U.S. officials had confirmed that President Obama authorized sending weapons to Syrian rebels for the first time.

The plan, as near as I can figure, is to arm al Qaeda terrorists to battle Assad who is a stooge of the Iranians but an ally of Syrian Christians. Sounds like a plan. What could possibly go wrong?

Well, if there is one thing that Obama has always been clear on: If a Middle Eastern dictator has any WMDs, America must go to war to prevent their use. He has always said that, right?

Fun Fact: Obama has killed more people with drone strikes, sent more troops to war and attacked more countries than all other Nobel Peace Prize winners combined.

Government Funds Internet Trolls

Advocate of Secret Infiltration, Cass Sunstein, on Obama’s “Committee To Make Us Trust the Dragnet” - See more at: http://www.emptywheel.net/2013/08/22/advocate-of-secret-infiltration-cass-sunstein-on-obamas-committee-to-make-us-trust-the-dragnet/#sthash.wDQkOWom.dpuf

"Sunstein advocates that the Government’s stealth infiltration should be accomplished by sending covert agents into “chat rooms, online social networks, or even real-space groups.” He also proposes that the Government make secret payments to so-called 'independent' credible voices to bolster the Government’s messaging (on the ground that those who don’t believe government sources will be more inclined to listen to those who appear independent while secretly acting on behalf of the Government). This program would target those advocating false “conspiracy theories,” which they define to mean: 'an attempt to explain an event or practice by reference to the machinations of powerful people, who have also managed to conceal their role.'”

It might be a good idea to take whatever these government officials say with a grain of salt. What is particularly amusing is their attempt to explain why they need to counter what they term as "false conspiracy theories". Like Benghazi? NSA spying on American citizens? The Boston bombing? Sandy Hook? The list goes on and on and the credibility of the American propaganda machine wears thin to the point of transparency.

Imagine That!

Rialto, CA Police Made to Wear Cameras, Use of Force Drops by Over Two-Thirds

When cops in a Rialto, California were forced to wear cameras, their use of force dropped by over two-thirds. Additionally, the officers who were not made to wear the cameras used force twice as much as those who did. This strongly suggests the majority of the time police use force is unnecessary. In other words, the majority of the time these officers used force they were simply committing acts of violence which they don't feel comfortable committing if it's captured on film.

A convenient feature of the camera is its "pre-event video buffer," which continuously records and holds the most recent 30 seconds of video when the camera is off. In this way, the initial activity that prompts the officer to turn on the camera is more likely to be captured automatically, too.

THE Rialto study began in February 2012 and will run until this July. The results from the first 12 months are striking. Even with only half of the 54 uniformed patrol officers wearing cameras at any given time, the department over all had an 88 percent decline in the number of complaints filed against officers, compared with the 12 months before the study, to 3 from 24.

Rialto's police officers also used force nearly 60 percent less often -- in 25 instances, compared with 61. When force was used, it was twice as likely to have been applied by the officers who weren't wearing cameras during that shift, the study found. And, lest skeptics think that the officers with cameras are selective about which encounters they record, Mr. Farrar noted that those officers who apply force while wearing a camera have always captured the incident on video.

How The Corrupt Establishment Is Selling Moral Bankruptcy To America

August 13, 2013
by Brandon Smith

Morality is a highly misunderstood component of human nature. Some people believe they can create moral guidelines from thin air based on their personal biases and prejudices. Some people believe that morality comes from the force of bureaucracy and government law. Still, others believe that there is no such thing; that morality is a facade created by men in order to better grease the wheels of society.

All of these world views discount the powerful scientific and psychological evidence surrounding Natural Law — the laws that human beings form internally due to inherent conscience, regardless of environmental circumstances. When a person finally grasps inborn morality, the whole of the world comes into focus. The reality is that we are not born “good” or “evil.” Rather, we are all born with the capacity for good AND evil, and this internal battle stays with us until the end of our days.

Were Students Smarter 100 years ago?

Published on Aug 1, 2013
Students at Denver's Metropolitan State University were unable to answer questions taken from a basic knowledge test administered to 8th graders in 1912, which was reprinted by Smithsonian Magazine earlier this month.

A democratic republic works best when the populace is literate and understands how its government works. This allows the citizens to participate effectively in their representative government. Otherwise, said government is no longer representative, but becomes tyrannical.

Uninformed idiocracy rules in the current USA with no end in sight.

Statement by Gov. Rick Perry on Secretary Sebelius’ Visit to Texas

Gov. Rick Perry today issued the following statement on U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius' Obamacare tour in Texas:

"Today, Secretary Sebelius is back in Texas to again explain the increasingly-convoluted, and increasingly-delayed, implementation of the federal exchange system. With due respect, the secretary and our president are missing the point: It's not that Americans don't understand Obamacare, it's that we understand it all too well. In Texas, we've been fighting Obamacare from the beginning, refusing to expand a broken Medicaid system and declining to set up a state health insurance exchange. We took these steps to minimize the damage Obamacare will cause to our economy and state budget, although we're all too aware Obamacare will still cause our state immense budgetary challenges in the years ahead, just like it will to families and small businesses across our country."

Here's the real unemployment rate

by Jerome R. Corsi

NEW YORK – Are the reports of an Obama economic recovery based on the economy creating mostly part-time jobs and on manipulated government statistics that report an artificially low unemployment number?

According to John Williams, an economist known for asserting the government reports manipulated “shadow statistics” of economic data for political purposes, the real unemployment rate for July 2013 was 23.3 percent, not the 7.4 percent reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Meanwhile, the House Ways and Means Committee reported Monday that seven of every eight new employees under Obama have been part-time.

Williams, editor of the Shadow Government Statistics website, wrote that the Bureau of Labor Statistics report indicating July unemployment dropped from 7.6 percent in June to 7.4 percent in July was “meaningless.”

“The broad economic outlook has not changed, despite the heavily-distorted numbers that continue to be published by the BLS,” Williams wrote. “The unemployment rates have not dropped from peak levels due to a surge in hiring; instead, they generally have dropped because of discouraged workers being eliminated from headline labor-force accounting.”

Benghazi Just Won't Go Away

Although the corrupt MSM continues to soft-peddle the facts, the Benghazi story just won't go away. Read the latest here.

So what, you might ask. Like Hillary Clinton proclaimed before congress, "What difference does it make?" Well. allow me to clear that up for you.

What the Benghazi story indicates is direct collusion between the United States government and Al Qaeda, our sworn enemy and those, we are told, that were responsible for the attack on 9/11, as well as the war in Afghanistan, and practically every other operation against "terrorism" in the world for the past umpteen years. Furthermore, if the United States government is working with these so-called terrorists behind the scenes, and keeping it covered up, it would indicate that the war on terrorism and all the subsequent actions, including those by Homeland Security, FEMA, most executive orders (and the list goes on and on) -- have all been bogus. It would indicate that the American people, indeed populations worldwide have been duped into believing an increased military state against terrorists is justified.

If the United States invented Al Qaeda, if the CIA funds and makes it possible for Al Qaeda to exist in order to create justification for the subjugation of all people, everywhere, then they would attempt to conceal the truth at all costs. Yes? How far does this rabbit hole go? How deep are the lies and the corruption?

Neglect at The New York Times

Think the New York Times is some paragon of truth? Think again.

by L. Brent Bozell III

After a long three-year gap since their last exclusive sit-down interview with President Obama, you might think The New York Times would be ready to ask tough questions on the most contentious issues of the day, beginning with the deepening Obama scandals.

Wrong. Instead, the Times defined the "news" in this interview to be Obama's counter-attacks. Their stories focused on Obama's accusations that (a) the Republicans are liars about Obamacare, (b) the Republicans exaggerate the benefits of building the Keystone XL pipeline and (c) the Republicans oppose his use of executive power because he has the "gall to win the presidency."

The national media are faithfully executing their Obama second-term call to preserve and protect his legacy. They are steering clear of any story that might imply that the president has in any way cut an ethical corner or abused his power. More: House Republicans investigating Obama scandals must be viewed as an assembly line for organized character assassination, not congressional oversight.

Small Town Police Are Tooling Up With Elite Military Hardware

Line between police and troops is now a blur

Steve Watson
Infowars.com
Aug 2, 2013

An Associated Press investigation has found that small town police departments are essetnailly grabbing whatever elite military equipment they can lays their hands on, in a move that is blurring the line between law enforcement and military service in the US.

The little known scheme, dubbed the “1033 Program” when passed by congress in 1997, was slated to bolster police departments in order to allow them to more effectively fight the “war on drugs” and to combat “terrorism”.

The program has seen police become equipped with surplus supplies of military robots, M-16 assault rifles, helicopters, armored vehicles, and even grenade launchers, all to be used against US citizens.

In 2011 alone, police departments across the nation received more than $500 million of military grade equipment.

The AP investigation found that the attitude among many small town departments is to grab what they can. It’s findings include:

– Morven, Ga.: Despite having an ankle-deep creek as it’s deepest body of water, the police chief got his hands on three boats, scuba gear, and rescue rafts.

– Rising Star, Texas: With a population of 835 residents, and only one full-time police officer, this department netted more than $3.2 million in property over 14 months.

– Bureau Count, Ill.: The sheriff — who had government-issued M14 rifles — was accused of lending some of them out to friends.

Norm Stamper, a retired Seattle Police chief warned “The harm for me is that it further militarizes American law enforcement.” “We make a serious mistake, I’m convinced, in equipping domestic law enforcement, particularly in smaller, rural communities, with this much military equipment.” he added.

The move to militarize police has been ongoing for some time. Departments across the country have received more than $34 billion in grants from the Department of Homeland Security.

“We do know that in 2011, a half-billion dollars of surplus military equipment went to police departments,” John Chasnoff, spokesman for the American Civil Liberties Union, told CBS St. Louis. “We have concerns that the lines between the two [police and military] is starting to blur.”
