Obama Appoints Janet Yellen Head of Federal Reserve Bank

Janet Yellen will be the next chair(person) of the Federal Reserve, succeeding Ben Bernanke.

President Obama will make the announcement on Wednesday at 3pm ET, the White House said late Tuesday. Both Janet Yellen and current Fed chair Ben Bernanke are expected to attend.

Yellen is currently the vice chairman of the Fed and has been widely reported as a front-runner to succeed Bernanke.

"She's an excellent choice and I believe she'll be confirmed by a wide margin," Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-NY, said after the announcement. Well, of course, what's old Chuckie going to say?

Yellen was appointed vice chair in Oct. 2010. She was president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco from 2004 to 2010 and also served as chair of the Council of Economic Advisors from 1997 to 1999. Prior to joining the Fed, Yellen spent much of her career as a professor at the University of California at Berkeley, one of the most left-leaning universities in the world, where she had been teaching since 1980.

If you don't know much about the Federal Reserve and how it controls the US economy, you should.

Gov't Lying or Incompetent?

by Mike Flynn
Breitbart

HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius appeared Monday night on "The Daily Show" and said she didn't know how many people had signed up for ObamaCare. "Fully enrolled?" Sebelius told host Jon Stewart. "I can't tell you. I don't know." Someone ought to remind the Secretary that it is 2013, not 1913.

It is inconceivable, in the Internet age, that the Obama Administration doesn't know how many people have enrolled in ObamaCare. The exchanges have been live for one week. Perhaps, because we're talking about the federal government, it doesn't have the real-time information that every other site on the Internet has, but it ought to have some rough numbers, at least. Websites today can easily track people on their sites in real-time. I could tell you how many people are on Breitbart News at this very second.

The issue is important, because the roll-out has been a mess. More importantly, if a sufficient number of people don't enroll, the entire infrastructure of ObamaCare crashes down. After a wide media dragnet, the one person identified as having successfully enrolled turned out to be an OFA volunteer. He also hadn't actually enrolled.

There really are only two explanations for this puzzle. First, they know exactly how many people have enrolled and are lying about it. The other possibility is that the Administration is so incompetent and the exchanges are so deficient that they really don't have access to the numbers. Yet again, incompetence is the best-case explanation for some problem in the Obama Administration.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney has promised "monthly reports" in the future on enrollment figures. This is laughable. If the government can't know on a real-time basis how many people are enrolling, how can it identify glitches, problems, or areas where they need to increase public education about the law.

How can the government even posit the idea that it should have more control over the health care system if it can't identify how many people actually have coverage?

Surely, even this Administration can't be this incompetent.

Edit: with their track record, I'd wager they're lying. Jambo

Uncle Sam the Sham

Everything happening within our government today pushes the country closer to globalism and further from sovereignty. We may not always see the bigger picture in the moment, but looking back reveals much. Seemingly simple changes in financial legislation, as with the progressive erasure of Glass-Steagall, render devastating fiscal shifts a decade later. Shocking events that appear random spur the passing of totalitarian legislation prepared years in advance. And always, the drumbeat for world unification. If it isn't obvious to you by now, allow me to inform you that nothing happens within government that does not revolve around the desire of establishment oligarchy in order to achieve total global economic, political and social control.

Central banks and international banks are the bedrock of globalization, and all greater political decisions eventually stand on this bedrock. Look at the cabinets of the past four U.S. Presidents; there you will find a banking elites who revolve in and out of government and back into the international financial sector. Private central banks like the Federal Reserve dominate the very currency (and thus the economy) of most nations on the planet. Interestingly enough, not Syria.

Most wars and man-made disasters have served only to further enrich and empower the merchant class. If you want to understand why a certain calamity has occurred, first look to who benefited most. Invariably, you will find the bankers smiling.

I've said this before but if you do not yet understand that the elite of the Republican Party and the Democratic Party share the same foundational philosophy of globalism, then you will never understand why our government does what it does. Public battles of words and legislation are nothing but staged rhetoric designed to fool you, the public, into believing all the debating and fighting is done for the benefit of mankind. Wise up. It's not for your benefit; rather, the goals of neocons and neolibs are all about the centralization of power. All legislation is used either to further centralization or as a smokescreen to confuse the public while centralization is taking place. When has the leadership of either party, for instance, ever demanded a full audit of the Federal Reserve? Let me give you a hint: never. When has the leadership of either party ever attempted to dismantle the Patriot Act or the despotic provisions of the National Defense Authorization Act or the President’s openly admitted assassination list? That's right. Never. They may seem to violently disagree at times, but do not be fooled. The disagreement is just another means to gain more dominance.

What you believe to be political blunders are more often actually calculated and engineered events. What you believe to be chaotic disasters of coincidence are often actually deliberate acts of attrition warfare against the common people disguised as random catastrophe. Those you believe to be heroes are actually villains in friendly masks. Those you are told are villains are actually good men and women refusing to be enslaved by the system. It's an upside-down distortion of reality presented to us by the ruling elite. That which you see and hear is never exactly as it appears.

Nearly every concrete action our government and central bank have taken in the past several decades has led to the further erosion of the American economy. If this is all just the consequence of stupidity or childish greed, you would think our leadership would have at least made a few good decisions by mistake; but they are incredibly adept at choosing all the wrong paths.

The reality -- a concept that escapes the television-watching, flag-waving, media-believing electorate -- is that collapses on the scale we are now witnessing in America rarely happen by accident.

The destruction of Glass-Steagall was a carefully crafted coup. The Federal Reserve deliberately and artificially lowered interest rates in order to allow banks to generate massive toxic debt through the derivatives markets. The Securities and Exchange Commission did little to nothing to stop the spread of cancerous mortgage instruments and ignored numerous calls for investigation. Ratings agencies like Moody’s and Fitch examined all of these toxic assets, knowing exactly what they were, and rated them AAA anyway. And banks like Goldman Sachs, knowing that the market was a sham, sold these bad assets around the world and then secretly bet against them later. Either this is economic warfare implemented with precision, or it’s all a string of coincidental blunders. I don’t believe in such coincidences and neither should you.

America is being destroyed by design to make way for a new global system administered by the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, as well as a new global currency tied to the IMF’s Special Drawing Rights. This is not merely Chicken Little hand-wringing, although that's the response that's given when progressives are faced with the emerging reality of what's happening.

If you are able to accept the confusion surrounding events like the government shutdown and debt ceiling, then all the debates wither and everything becomes clear. It's all a sham and you, my friend, are being fleeced out of your money, your beliefs, and your freedom.

Government worried about citizen uprising

by Patrice Lewis
World Net Daily

I don’t own a smartphone. I’m computer illiterate enough as it is, so the thought of trying to figure out all the bells and whistles on the tiny screen of the latest whiz-bang technological marvel holds no appeal whatever.

Besides, there’s something disconcerting about the idea of a handheld device holding my entire life’s data. It’s too easy for something like that to get lost. Or stolen. Or scanned. Or confiscated.

In short, our private lives are exposed enough as it is to anyone who wants to do a little snooping. I don’t need to make it any easier by having a smartphone.

That said, there’s no shortage of shockingly invasive tactics our government is employing to keep track of its servants … er, citizens. In fact, it seems that more and more of what our government is doing is keeping track – close track – of what we’re all up to.

Our traveling is monitored through license plates and GPS systems. Our credit card purchases are monitored. Our phone calls are monitored. Our social media sites are monitored. Our search engines and online meanderings are monitored. In short, there is very little the government doesn’t know about everyone. Even the occasional hermit living unplugged in the deep woods is subject to visits from data collectors.

This week it was reported that “The director of the National Security Agency says the agency collects data from social networks and other private databases to hunt terror suspects but is not using the information to build dossiers, or personal files, on Americans.” Uh-huh.

Additionally: “Top U.S. intelligence officials are revealing more about their spying in an effort to defend the National Security Agency from charges that it has invaded the privacy of Americans on a mass scale. Yet the latest disclosure – the NSA tried to track Americans’ cell phone locations – has only added to the concerns of lawmakers” [emphasis added].

Why is this happening? What’s with the government’s fascination – no, obsession – with keeping tabs on anything and everything we do?

There is endless speculation, of course, but ultimately it is to prevent a citizen uprising.

Like slave owners, our overseers are petrified that we will revolt. History has shown, over and over again, that a people can take oppression for only so long before they rise up in explosive anger. That is, after all, what the Declaration of Independence was all about. The American Revolution was a revolution against its own government.

Whether our politicians are willing to admit it or not, there is a deep cauldron of suppressed anger, fury and hatred among the citizens of this nation at the abuses they’ve suffered at the hands of intrusive government goons. Everything from TSA pat-downs to kick-in-the-door, middle-of-the-night thugs, there’s a lot of simmering resentment just waiting for the right spark to set it off.

Now with Obamacare being shoved down our throats, that level of anger is rising. We are being unconstitutionally forced to purchase something the vast majority of America simply doesn’t want. Supporters of Obamacare refuse to acknowledge that the ACA isn’t about providing health insurance to the uninsured; it’s about taking control of a vast portion of the American economy, skewing the balance of power in the tripod of government and using our most sensitive medical data against us to bring us to our knees.

Obamacare is just one iron in the fire. There are endless other examples of how much more government controlled our lives are becoming. What angers so many people is the phony excuses the government makes while imposing the most shockingly unconstitutional garbage on us. The favorite lie is these things are done to keep us “safe,” even to the point of mining Facebook and Twitter to “prevent crimes.” Prevent crime? What are they, mind readers? I’m guessing the “crime” they’re most anxious to prevent is a citizen revolt.

To this end, the government has many long-term projects. It has taken over public education with the dumbed-down revisionist Common Core to ensure that future servants … er, citizens … are educated according to strict government standards of stupidity and witlessness. Obamacare will deem endless millions of Americans “unfit” to own firearms based on vague pseudo-medical excuses. Everything from smart meters to drones is gathering information on the government’s behalf, to be used against us.

To quote Simon Black of Sovereign Man Blog, “This is all playing out with nearly perfect historical precision. Time and time again throughout history as once great empires accelerated their declines, governments have taken steps to protect their interests against the people. In the past, they have imposed curfews, disarmed the population, curtailed civil liberties and declared national emergencies, usually against some great faceless enemy from abroad who threatens their way of life.

“As it turns out, though, our great faceless enemy is not some mythical boogeyman living in a cave, nor some angry brown person who hates us for our freedoms … but the very people within the system who’ve taken an oath to ‘support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic’” [emphasis added].

What it comes down to is the government is terrified of us. Well over 100 million Americans own firearms and they aren’t about to give them up, particularly to a government bent on imposing a tyranny that will exceed the abuses of George III. So the threat of a citizen uprising remains, even as the government continues to chisel away at the foundation of rights and freedoms upon which this nation was built.

Now whether our government is “egging” people toward division, strife and discord in order to declare martial law and take over, I have no idea. I’m not privy to the internal logic of our government officials. But you know what? It wouldn’t surprise me. In the spirit of never letting a crisis go to waste (even if the crisis is manufactured), the government would happily seize the opportunity to suspend our rights and confiscate our resources.

So how is all this chicanery working for the government? A recent poll revealed 80 percent of the U.S. population has been trained to believe “the government is in charge of the people.” Only 8 percent believe “the people are in charge of the government.”

More than half of Americans own smartphones, but evidently those gadgets aren’t making us any smarter. Maybe people should use those technological marvels to actually read something useful, such as how and why the first American Revolution began.

Start by Googling, “When in the course of human events …” and see where it leads you. Who knows, you might even learn something.

Police Remove Vietnam War Veterans at Memorial Wall

Police ordered tourists and Vietnam war veterans who were visiting the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall to leave the memorial at one point on Friday.

After one group of veterans went around the barricade, "the park ranger told them the wall was closed," NBC's Mark Seagraves reported. "Later another group of vets showed up and moved the barricades. At that point, the memorial filled with vets and tourists. That's when police came and moved everyone out."

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall is a black granite outdoor wall on which the names of the 58,272 service members who died or were unaccounted for during the Vietnam war are inscribed.

It takes more manpower and costs the government more money to close down an outdoor wall than to let people walk past it and pay their respects.

The Obama administration has been very selective in devoting resources to shutting down memorials.

Are You Getting Used To It Yet?

Bill  “Billy” Wayne Johnson
The president of the University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA) Young Democrats chapter is a convicted child sex offender.

Bill “Billy” Wayne Johnson, who is listed on the school’s official website as the primary contact for the student organization, was registered as a sex offender in April of 2010, according to Texas DPS SEX Offender registry.

According to state records, Johnson was convicted of first degree aggravated sexual assault of a child on April 28, 2003, and spent nearly three years in the Garza West Texas Department of Criminal Justice for the offense, from July 16, 2003 through April 12, 2006.

Sexual Assault of a Child is aggravated if the child is under 14 years of age, if a deadly weapon is used or a serious bodily injury is threatened, according to Texas Penal Code Sec. 22.021.

Those records include multiple photos of Johnson, which match photos on his Facebook and Twitter accounts, and describe him as a 211 pound white male with “BLOND STRAWBERRY” hair who attends UTPA. The arrest report also lists a number of aliases and indicates he was required to register annually.

A Texas conservative blog, Texas Conservative Republican news, has also identified Johnson as a sex offender.

Local publication, ValleyCentral.com, also reported in 2010, that Johnson’s offense was “indecency with a [sic] an 8-year-old child.” Johnson came to Valley Central’s attention for volunteering at The Horizon Montessori Charter School in McAllen.

Johnson also identifies himself as the Young Democrat's chapter president on his Twitter profile, @CrimsonBilly, and appears at chapter events in Facebook photos.

It may be that Johnson is no longer required to register annually, as the report indicates there was a change of status in June, 2013

On September 13, Jenn Brown, the executive director of Battleground Texas, an organization that attempts to register Democratic voters in the state, Tweeted at Johnson to thank him for his work at the organization.

“He’s the great president of the @YoungDemsATUTPA,” Brown continued in another Tweet.

A photo was originally attached to the Tweet, but has since been removed. It can still be found, however, on the UT Confessions Facebook page.
